Meet Dr. Sansevere

Dr. Sansevere was born and raised in New Jersey. He attended Raritan High School in Hazlet, NJ. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Montclair State College and Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He went on to complete a residency specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, NJ. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Sansevere opened his private practice in Flemington, NJ and was appointed to the faculty of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Dental School. He was Assistant Clinical Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the New Jersey Dental School, and also served as Director of Anesthesia for the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery during his tenure. Dr. Sansevere left his academic position in 1997 to pursue his private practice in Hunterdon County full-time.

Dr. Sansevere is Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the New Jersey Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Society of Dental Anesthesiology, American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, and the Mercer Dental Society. He is a member of the medical staff at the Hunterdon Medical Center and the Hunterdon Center for Surgery. He is a certified provider of both basic life support (CPR) as well as advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).

Dr. Sansevere has authored several articles on various topics in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. His special area of clinical interest is reconstruction of the teeth and jaws with dental implants and bone grafting. He has extensive experience in the field of dental implant surgery.

Dr. Sansevere is an avid fisherman, and enjoys playing golf and gardening. He also coaches many of his children’s recreation sports teams including baseball, softball and basketball. He is a Boy Scout merit badge counselor. He lives in Whitehouse Station with his wife, Carolyn, and their three children.
